It's hard to go to school confident and ready to learn if you don't have the proper tools...
This project was born out of the desire to support youth in the City of Richmond. We view this fundraiser as a long-term investment in our community, and our goal is to help Richmond kids understand the value of their education and walk into their respective classrooms with the confidence of knowing that they have the community’s support.
Over the years,
Moving Forward provided thousands of youth in our community with backpacks filled with essential school supplies. As time has passed, we've steadily expanded our support—most notably by launching a scholarship program to further invest in our young people’s success.
We’ve also remained flexible, adjusting to the changing needs of our community. For instance, at the start of the pandemic, traditional backpacks weren’t a priority as students transitioned to distance learning. Instead, we pivoted quickly to provide headphones, microphones, desks, home office supplies—and even shoes—to ensure students could thrive at home.
Whether it's a new pair of shoes or a backpack full of supplies, our goal remains the same: to make sure every young person in our community feels confident, prepared, and proud as they walk into their classroom.
Community-Led, Always
2025 is no different—our commitment to community continues strong. This year, we’re proud to support Stege Elementary School by donating school supplies and other essential items to uplift their educational mission and student well-being. If your child attends Stege, stay tuned for school updates—exciting things are on the way!

🧥 274 Stege-branded hoodies to keep students warm and proud.
🎲 Table games & sports equipment to support play, teamwork, and fun.
Together, we continue to meet real needs, guided by the voices of our community.
